Archos’ new ‘55 Diamond Selfie’ phone isn’t made of diamonds

French erstwhile portable media player manufacturer Archos is releasing a new phone this fall called the 55 Diamond Selfie. It feels misleading because it doesn’t involve diamonds, and it doesn’t do anything to improve your selfies. A press release describes the phone as having "chic design, powerful hardware and fancy functionalities." Hm. I wonder what this fancy functionality is. Let’s see, maybe the specs have the answer:

  • Qualcomm MSM8937 processor
  • 4GB of RAM
  • 64GB of internal storage
  • 3,000mAh battery
  • 16-megapixel rear-facing camera with autofocus and LED flash on the back
  • 8-megapixel front-facing camera
