Acer announced an update to the Chromebook 15 this week, adding more battery life and improved audio.
The Chromebook 15 was the first Chromebook ever to have a 15.6-inch screen when it launched last year, albeit with a 1366 x 768 resolution that feels more suited to a 13-inch display. Acer claims that the updated Chromebook 15 now gets up to 12 hours of battery life, a significant increase over the original Chromebook 15’s estimated nine hours.
The specs are on the low end of the scale
The rest of the specs are distinctly on the lower end of the scale, even for a Chromebook, with an Intel Celeron N3060 processor, 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of built-in storage. But at $199.99, it's almost certainly the cheapest 15.6-inch laptop available. Whether or not that price is worth the compromises of the Chromebook 15 is a decision you'll have to make.
