Asus put Kaby Lake in slightly smaller laptops

Intel’s 7th generation Core processor, known as Kaby Lake, has already been included in multiple laptops, and now Asus is putting the CPU in its new ZenBook UX410. The laptop’s only 18.95mm thick and weighs 3.5 pounds. I wish I could help you visualize that width. A Macbook Air is approximately 17mm thick. Does that help? The UX410 also has a slim 6mm bezel and comes with a 14-inch Full HD display.

There are two versions of the laptop — the UX410UA and the UX410UQ. They only differ in their graphics cards. The UX410Q comes with NVIDIA’s GeForce 940MX graphics card, whereas the UX410UA comes with integrated Intel graphics. You can see a full list for the UX410UA here and the UX410UQ here. Razer, Lenovo, and Acer already have laptops out with Intel’s new processor, but Asus’s UX410 likely competes most directly with the Dell XPS 13. Dell doesn’t offer a Nvidia graphics card option, however. We don’t have pricing for the UX410 just yet, though, so we can’t say whether it’s wildly more expensive than its competition.
