Google’s Daydream View VR headset announced

Google has just unveiled the first headset for its Daydream VR platform: Daydream View. It's a lightweight headset that's meant to be used with any Daydream-compatible phone — and in particular, the new Pixel, which is the first phone to support the platform.

With View, Google is trying to solve a handful of usability problems that have troubled early VR headsets. One of the basics is cleanliness; the View headset is wrapped in fabric, which owners will be able to clean after wearing.
