Apple’s shiny new MacBook Pros are making the switch to USB-C ports for everything, which means that unless you’re looking to live your best #donglelife, it’s probably time to start looking into a USB-C monitor.
And EIZO’s newly announced USB-C monitor, the FlexScan EV2780, looks like exactly the sort of friend a modern Mac laptop needs right now.
The FlexScan EV2780 is a 27-inch monitor with a native 2560 x 1440 resolution and USB-C, DisplayPort, and HDMI inputs. Additionally, the monitor can supply up to 30 watts of power to charge any USB-C-connected laptops over the same cable, as well as offering a two-port USB 3.0 hub for using legacy devices.
No price or release date has been announced yet for the FlexScan EV2780, but it seems logical to assume that it will cost somewhere around the $989 price point of its non-USB-C predecessor, the FlexScan EV2750.
