2016 is a shit year, and Huawei isn’t going to take it anymore. The company is releasing three new MediaPad tablets — the M3, T1 7.0, and T1 10.0 — one of which is pretty good, and two you should not buy under any circumstances. Let’s start with the good.
The MediaPad M3 runs Android 6.0 and is a pretty impressive tablet spec-wise when you consider the $299 price tag:
- 8.4-inch, 2560 × 1600 display
- HiSilicon Kirin octa-core chip
- 32GB of storage,
- 4GB of RAM
- 8MP front and rear cameras
- 5100 mAh battery, Harmon Kardon-certified speakers, and a fingerprint scanner
Now the bad.
The MediaPad T1 tablets apparently came to Huawei in a time machine from 2013, as they will run on Android 4.4 (KitKat) when they are released tomorrow. The 7-inch and 9.6-inch T1 tablets will cost $99 and $159, respectively, so they won’t break the bank, but you’re better off buying a tablet from an airport vending machine instead of these things.
Huawei will also bring its 10.1 M2 to the US next month, which will run Android 5.1 and comes with 2GB of RAM for $349. The Huawei MediaPad M3, T1 7.0, and T1 10.0 tablets are now available through Amazon and will begin shipping later this week.
